Under Project C, YouTube organized an event on November 24 at a private hotel in Karachi, which was attended by Pakistan's leading YouTubers, social media stars, singers, journalists, publishers and representatives of institutions.

During the event, other singers including Hasan Rahim, Eva B and Kafi Khalil also performed while several YouTubers and content creators shared their experiences and success stories.

During the event, it was informed that the recent online research "Unlocking Digital in Rural Pakistan" conducted by Google and Kantar found that YouTube is the most popular streaming website in Pakistan, where people do not Not only gaming but also watching content of your choice.

According to research, YouTube is the most popular platform for watching online videos in Pakistan, with 62 percent of Pakistanis aged 18 to 24 in the country saying they watch YouTube at least once or more a month.

According to the above survey, 91% of internet users in Pakistan feel positive while watching YouTube while 78% of internet users use YouTube when they want to watch their favorite shows and content. .

Among the survey participants, 76 percent of Internet users said that YouTube helped them learn something new, while 75 percent of Pakistanis claimed that the platform has content that furthers their interests.

The aforementioned research also revealed that 48 percent of Pakistanis are now online, of which 78 percent also watch YouTube, and 76 percent of YouTube viewers said that YouTube has unique content that cannot be found anywhere else.

Speaking at the event, Farhan S. Qureshi, Google's country director for Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, said YouTube is about making connections and finding a community you can call home, and it's a place where viewers can learn, change moods and Come to connect with your emotions.

He said that YouTube not only gives people an opportunity to express their feelings but also provides them with financial stability, which is not surprising since the platform resonates with people from all regions. That YouTube creates deep connections between brands, creators and viewers in urban and rural areas of Pakistan.

The country director said that among the categories that saw an increase in video watch time during the first quarter of 2022 in Pakistan, content viewing on the topic of digital marketing increased by more than 95 percent, while web development increased by more than 90 percent. Exercise videos increased by more than 80 percent and viewing of live television videos by 8 times.

According to him, the total time of content uploaded to YouTube by channels in Pakistan from June 2021 to May 2022 increased by more than 25% compared to the same period last year.

During the event, Director of YouTube Partner Development and Management (Asia Pacific) Marc Lefkowitz said that the number of channels with more than one hundred thousand (100K) subscribers on YouTube is more than 5,400, which is 35 compared to last year. The percentage is high.

Out of all these channels, more than 350 channels have more than 1 million subscribers, on a year-on-year basis as of June 2021, the number of YouTube channels is more than 110 percent with revenue of 1 million Pakistani rupees or more, he said. is more
